Almost one year, and finally, the record is nearing duplication status. This being my first studio album I knew not to expect what my eager brain wanted to expect. In late winter 2010 we began the process with drums and scratch tracks which launched us right into early summer. Working about once a week slowly moved to once a month due to day jobs, unforeseen events and such. Instrumentations vocalizations and lots of patience have catapulted us to right now, the final mixing stages.
From my point of view as an artist, I really did not realize how the comparing mind could interfere with completion. The times in which the different instruments were record will never be again, same with the vocals. Once captured on a day like yesterday, can not be be again with the same feel on a day like today. So with this in mind I have teetered between the finders keepers of what it might sound like the day after tomorrow. I like the honesty in every moment yet aim to become more perfect. Honestly honesty is perfection, at least I like to think it that way. Sigh, what an experience. I now know a bit more than i did before this began, only now I am just a wee bit eager to begin again. I guess that is a sure sign of some kind of growth, which is a good thing. As I sprout my limbs become stronger and I feel lighter, and I like it. So the final note, for the record, the record is earth side and near that place where it might find a life in your home! Slow and steady is good I conclude in this blessed life of what ever may be.
